Summer in south Kefalonia is all about being outside, and the lovely garden at Villa Mariza is the perfect place to make the most of the long golden days. The views from here are hypnotic, stretching over the sapphire sea as far as the north tip of Zakynthos in the distance.

Villa Mariza was refurbished recently so that each of the three bedrooms has not only smart new décor but also direct access onto a terrace or balcony, so you can wake up to the amazing view. When you feel like diving into that incredible blue water, we recommend both Trapezaki beach, with its popular beach bar, and UNESCO classified Agios Thomas, ideal for older kids with rock pools to explore and a few diving spots for the brave. For a wider choice of facilities, there’s everything you need at Lourdas beach, a 15-minute drive away.
