Titan Villas – Villa Kronos is set just a 15-minute walk to a cluster of tavernas, cafes and a mini market in Plaka or enjoy the beautiful beaches just a 5 minute drive away.
It’s a tasteful blend of traditional materials and modern architecture, attractively finished in the fresh blues and brilliant whites that are the signature colours of Greece. A lot of thought has gone into the design, with the unusual inclusion of two single rooms as well as two doubles to make a very versatile layout for a family or a group of friends. High quality Coco-mat beds, bathrobes, optional pool heating and a hamam add a touch of hotel-style indulgence to your holiday, complemented by the seclusion that only a private villa can offer.
You can walk to the village of Plaka for a traditional taverna lunch in its pretty main square in about 15 minutes, and there are basic village shops here for essentials. About a kilometre further on is Almyrida, blessed with a gently shelving sandy beach, numerous watersports and a string of excellent restaurants for wonderful waterfront dining. Souda Bay is both scenically stunning and historically important, from the ancient theatre of Aptera looking out towards the White Mountains, to the well-preserved Ottoman fortress and the sombre Allied WWII cemetery.
No holiday in western Crete would be complete without a visit to the old Venetian harbour town of Chania, one of the undisputed jewels of the island and easily accessible in about 40 minute by car.
